This Assessment was created with three specific objectives.  The first objective is to help answer the question:  “Would I make a good BizOwner?”
From having helped hundreds of people start businesses, I know that this question needs to be answered, and answered definitely, before a business should be started.  Too often people have started a business only to discover that owning a business was not all it was cracked up to be and they were not cut out for it.  Most of these people end up with a business failure, and there are too many of these already.  The first step to becoming a good BizOwner is to decide firmly that you can live the life of a business owner and that you can be happy doing it.  This Assessment does NOT answer the question as to what business to start.  The Assessment is designed to help the person considering business ownership decide if they have the traits, knowledge and skills necessary to handle the life of a successful business owner.  This Assessment is only about the new BizOwner as a person.
The second objective is to educate the person taking the Assessment on the traits that most successful BizOwners possess.  The Assessment also educates the person considering starting a business on the knowledge most successful business owners have and the skills most often leading to small business success.  Education is the key to helping a new business owner overcome fear and it also provides confidence that the decision they are about to make is the right decision for them.
The third objective of this Assessment is to identify many of your personal strengths and weaknesses.  By knowing your strengths, you will have more confidence in your abilities and by knowing your weaknesses, you will know the areas where help is needed.  The good news is that each of the traits, knowledge areas, and skills identified in this Assessment can be changed and can turn what might be now a weakness into a positive strength.
